Jewelry Care Guide

Updated: Jan 23

We design our jewels using a variety of different metals to provide sensitive-skin-safe options for all lifestyles. Our collection main using 14K/ 18K GOLD PLATED BRASS.

To make your jewelry last, you'll want to take care of it - just like you would anything else you love in life. Jewelry care isn’t one-size-fits-all, so here’s what you need to know to keep your jewels sparkling for years to come ✨

WHAT IS 14K/ 18K GOLD PLATED BRASS?

Thick coating of 14K/ 18Kgold over high quality brass

Should be kept away from sweat, water, harsh chemicals, personal care products, and abrasive cleaners

HOW TO CLEAN 14K/ 18K GOLD PLATED BRASS

  1. Use your Maison Miru cleaning cloth to polish

  2. For deeper cleaning, add mild soap (like Dawn) to warm water

  3. Leave jewels to soak for one to two minutes

  4. Use a baby toothbrush to scrub

  5. Pat to dry

ALL ABOUT TARNISHING

Tarnishing is completely natural for sterling silver and non-PVD plated jewelry. It's just the jewelry reacting with the air (AKA oxidizing). Tarnishing can be sped up by a number of factors: body chemistry, water/sweat, exposure to harsh chemicals or personal care products (e.g. shampoos and soaps).

To make your jewelry last, follow the care tips above and store in a safe, dry place ✨
