Pure Silver Earrings:
Pure silver has a delicate metallic luster and the craftsmanship of silver jewelry can rival that of 24K gold, making it an affordable choice. 925 sterling silver is composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other alloys (usually copper), making the earrings more durable and less prone to deformation. However, pure silver is prone to oxidation, so earrings may require regular maintenance and cleaning.
14K Gold Fill Earrings:
14K gold fill is a popular material in Europe and America. Unlike electroplating, which uses ion attachment to color the metal, 14K gold fill involves high-pressure bonding of a layer of 14K gold onto a silver-copper alloy surface. This manufacturing method results in a thicker and more stable layer of 14K gold compared to regular electroplating, typically 100 to 1000 times thicker.
Earrings made of 14K gold fill require similar care and maintenance as 14K gold. If the surface oxidizes, it can be polished to restore its shine. If you are not allergic to 14K gold, 14K gold fill is generally a safe choice.

14K/18K Gold Fill
To address the issue of oxidation and discoloration of electroplated jewelry in Hong Kong's humid climate, we have introduced 14K/18K gold fill from Europe. This material allows for long-lasting, colorfast gold jewelry that can withstand sweating or exposure to water.
What does gold fill mean? When purchasing gold jewelry, you may have come across two terms: gold plated (GP) and gold fill (GF). Although the names are similar, their gold content is completely different. Gold plated utilizes electrolysis to deposit a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal. On the other hand, gold fill, also known as gold-filled or rolled gold, mechanically bonds a thicker layer of gold onto another metal surface. Compared to gold plating, gold fill has a thicker layer of gold and a stronger bond between the gold and the metal, resulting in higher durability and resistance to wear. The thickness of the gold layer in gold fill is approximately 100 times that of gold plating.
Due to the thinner layer of gold in gold plating, it may be more prone to wear off with frequent friction, revealing the underlying metal. In contrast, gold fill has a thicker layer of gold and a stronger bond, making it less likely for the outer gold layer to peel off and expose the underlying metal.

什麼叫包金？大家在選購金飾時，你可能曾經看過這兩個標示：鍍金（GP）與包金（GF）。名稱雖然相似，但其實含金量完全不一樣。 鍍金（Gold Plated）是利用電解原理，在其他金屬的表面，鍍上一層薄薄的黃金，而包金（Gold Filled），也被稱為注金 ，則是將黃金以機械方法滾壓在其他金屬表面，與鍍金相較之下，黃金的部分較厚，且黃金與金屬之間的結合力也較強，因此耐磨度高且不易剝落，長期配戴也較能維持原有的光澤。其黃金的厚度是鍍金的約100倍。
由於鍍金的黃金較薄，使用時若經常摩擦，可能較容易剝落，露出內層金屬；而包金的黃金厚度較厚、結合力也較強，比較不容易因外力使得外層的黃金剝落，而露出內層金屬。
